1302 Verna Cline, 90, of Vinton, OH and formerly McArthur, OH passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009. The daughter of the late Willis and Elvra Cobb Blankenship, she was born November 16, 1918, at Boggs, WV.

Verna was a homemaker and a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmie Coombs of the Philippines, Jerry Coombs of Tennessee, Albert (Shirley) Smith of Vinton, OH, James Smith of Byer, OH and Carl (Maxine) Smith of Ray, OH; daughters, Regena Smith of Oak Hill, OH, Judy Coleman of Hamden, OH; thirty grandchildren and thirty-six great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Darrel (Sandra) Blankenship; sisters Dolly Stewart and Ruby Babb; sisters-in-law Eileen and Jean Blankenship; brother-in-law, Victor Davis and daughters-in-law, Rosie Coombs and Diane Smith.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband Ed Cline in 1990; sons, Lerrie Coombs and John Smith; stepson, Jimmy Smith; daughter Irene Armentrout; and stepdaughter Mildred Flint; brothers, Alden, Eldon and Walter Blankenship; and sisters, Masil Davis and Elma Cutlip also preceded her in death.

Friends called Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 at the Huntley &amp; Cremeens Funeral Home of Wellston, OH. Additional hours of visitation took place Wednesday from noon to 2 pm at the Green-Robertson Funeral Home in Sutton, WV. Services, officiated by Reverend Herman Stewart, were conducted at the conclusion of calling hours and burial followed in the Braxton County Cemetery.

1303 Vertie (Bill) W. McNeeley, Jr., 85, of Crossville TN went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2017. He was born July 27, 1932 in Westerly, West Virginia, son of Virtie and Minnie McNeeley. He served in the Army and retired with honorable discharge from the Air Force. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts. He was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God since 1968 and founded Crossville Community Church (formerly Country Church).
He is survived by his wife, Patricia McNeeley, Crossville; daughter, Kathy McNeeley, Cookeville; daughter, Terri La’Gere, Cookeville; son Steve McNeeley, Crossville; daughter, Tabitha McNeeley, Cookeville; grandchildren, Jonathan McNeeley, Jaime Grainger, Lee Eddings, Ashley Eddings, Amber McNeeley, Brandon Kerley and Blake Bowman; and great-grandchildren, Lorin McNeeley, Cashas Grainger, Josey Grainger, Tayslee Eddings, Talon Kerley and Chase Kerley.
He is survived by his sisters Mossie, Nancy, Patsy, Sue, Jerri, and his brothers Don, Benny, Robert, David and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virtie and Minnie and his sister Violet.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 25, 2017 at 12:00noon from the Chapel of Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11am-12noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crossville City Cemetery.

1304 VIENNA, Ohio – Charles “Dolan” Knight, 78, passed away peacefully at 4:50 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at his residence with his family by his side.

He was born in Sutton, West Virginia on November 29, 1938 (although his mother said October 29) to Harley Slie and Ida Pauline (Stout) Knight. He was the forth of thirteen children.

He honorably served in the United States Army and was stationed in Ansbach, Germany.

He retired in 1999 after working 32 years as a tow motor operator at General Motors in Lordstown.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, traveling and working at his son’s auction facility. His favorite place to travel was Pigeon Forge Tennessee to see the black bears.

Dolan is survived by his wife, Margaret A. “Maggie” Payne Knight whom he married on September 20, 1969; son, Larry (Doreen) Knight of Canfield; daughter, Shelly (Keith) Walters of Niles; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Noah) Rupp of Canfield, Jake Knight of Cleveland, Makenzie Walters of Struthers, Kailee Knight of Niles, Marissa Walters of Niles, Jacob Bindas of Canfield and Olivia Knight of Canfield; two great-grandsons, Adam and Jackson Rupp of Canfield; five brothers, Sampson (Wynonia) Knight of Webster Springs, West Virginia, Darel (Mary) Knight of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Ernie (Sandy) Knight of Clarksburg, West Virginia, Gary (Drema) Knight of Fairmont, West Virginia and Earl (Kay) Knight of Hilton Head, South Carolina; three sisters, Bertha Miller of Medina, Isa Furey of Niles and Linda Walter of St. Augustine, Florida and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Krista Leigh Knight whom died on January 4, 1987; two brothers, Mayness Knight and Jerry Knight and two sisters, Sharon Smith and Glenna Flanigan.

Calling Hours will be Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home.

The funeral will be Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Greenhaven Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all their friends and family for their support, also all the people at MVI Hospice, especially Nick and Ann for their exceptional care. Maggie would especially like to thank her sisters-in-law, Bertha and Isa for without their help she would not have been able to take care of him at home.

1305 Vincent Allen Bonifas, 41, of Gothenburg, NE, died February 7, 2013 at his home in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born January 22, 1972 in St Marys, OH, son of Clifford and LeAnne (Frysinger) Bonifas.

Vincent lived for many years in Anderson, South Carolina, in November of 2011 moved to Gothenburg, to be closer to his family. He enjoyed drag racing with his brothers Jeff and Nate, and spending time with his nieces, Autumn and Stormie. Vincent worked as an electrician for Electric Rain.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, LeAnne Frysinger of Munsey, IN, brothers; Jeffrey (Tammy) Bonifas of Gothenburg, NE, Nathan (Tisha) Bonifas of Lexington, NE, sisters, Michelle (Mohammad) Abdulla of Munsey, IN, Amy Martin of Doublin, GA., son, Nathan Bonifas, daughters; Brittiany Bonifas, Shannan Bonifas, Margret Bonifas, Brandy Bonifas; many nieces and nephews and his racing family.

Vincent was preceded in death by father, Clifford F Bonifas, paternal grandparents, Ken and Rita Bonifas, maternal grandparents Dean and Margret Frysinger, nephew, Vincent Lee Bonifas.

1306 Violet Mae Straw, age 81, of Kinderhook Township, Montgomery, Michigan, passed away at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility, Thursday, August 28, 2014.

Violet was born on February 27, 1933, in Bath Township, Greene County, Ohio.

She married Jay J. "Bud" Straw on April 4, 1953, in Angola, Indiana.

Violet graduated from Coldwater High School in 1951. She was a nurses' aide for the Coldwater State Home for 18 years, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, and spending time at her cottage in northern Michigan.

Survivors include five daughters, Kathy (Bob) Miner of Montgomery, Michigan, Carolyn (Jeff) Hensley of Montgomery, Alabama, Sharon Frasier of Angola, Indiana, Velvet (Gerry) Lerch of Kent City, Michigan, and Shirley Sensat of Kinderhook Township, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, George Pope of Coldwater, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay " Bud" Straw; four brothers; and a grandson, Wesley.

Burial will be at Knauss Cemetery, Kinderhook Township, Branch County, Michigan

She was born October 4, 1927 in Low Moor, Virginia a daughter of the late Robert Morris Taylor and Evelyn Sergent Taylor.
Mrs. Rollison was a homemaker and worked for the former Jane Colby Apparel in Clifton Forge. She was a member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Timothy B. and Frances Rollison of Iron Gate and James David Rollison of Baltimore, MD; one grand daughter, April R. Galis of Charleston, SC; one step grandson and spouse, Timmy and Lisa Vess of Clifton Forge; two step great-grandchildren, Dillon Vess and Cody Wayne Vess; three nieces and one nephew.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Billie Rollison in April 1996; and a sister, Elizabeth T. Healy.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, August 20, 2004 from the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home Clifton Forge. Interment will follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Nicely Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

1322 Wanema died at her home in Leavenworth on January 27, 2008, from cancer. Wanema was born September 6, 1936, to Earl and Elma Lane in Boise, ID. The family moved to Omak, WA when Wanema was young. She graduated from Omak High School June 1, 1954. Wanema married Robert Burke on March 2, 1956, and had two children. The family moved to Wenatchee in early 1960. Wanema was a travel agent for almost 30 years and traveled to many places. Wanema married Thomas Beemer March 11, 1989, and moved to Leavenworth. She was retired and enjoyed traveling with her daughter and spending time with her grandchildren. Wanema lived in Leavenworth until her death. Wanema is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Mark Kestner; her son and daughter-in-law, Rob and Chris Burke; her step-daughter, Holly Beemer; her step-son, Steve Beemer; five grandchildren, Jennifer Kestner Dieringer, Becca Kestner, Christopher Burke, Jessica Burke and Katelyn Burke; her sister, Mary Canan; her brother, John Lane; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son; and her two husbands. Born May 30, 1938 in Webster County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Millie (Cogar) Cutlip. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Glen Hosey; twin sister Aretta Lowther, and sisers Desta McCloy, Estell Gilles, and Belva Miller.
Wanetta was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Elvis Cutlip, Jessica (husband, Lonnie) Short, Charl (husband, Chuck) Jordan; grandchildren, Shaela Woody, Melody Norton, Jeremie Short, Charlie Jordan, and Chelsie Jordan; great-granddaughter, Madison Short; sister Joyce (Bill) Lawson; brothers, Roy (Hazel) Cutlip, Doy (Jean) Cutlip, and Charles (Betty) Cutlip; brother-in-law Obrey Lowther; friend of over 70 years, Peggy Howell; close friend, Mardell, special cousin, Brenda Frantz; and Charlotte Short who was like a daughter to her; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

1324 Warder Lee “June” Stout, Jr. age 89 of Grassy Creek passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at his home. June was born May 31, 1929, in Sutton and was the son of the late Warder Lee Stout Sr. and Eliza J. Davis Stout.

June retired from Simon, Saul &amp; Steel and was an avid fisherman, hunter, and trapper and enjoyed gardening and farming. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict and was awarded several medals during his service.

June is survived by his sons Toby Lee Stout of Lockport, NY and Steven Ray Stout of Torrington, WY; daughters Marilyn Marie Stout (Lonnie) Hypes of Braselton, GA and Vicky Ann Stout Kenna of Alachua, FL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters Wilda Vargo, Wanda Miller, and Francis Lambert; and several other extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Rosemary Lynn Stout Newton; son Daniel Scott Stout; two grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.

1325 Warren E. Howell, 63, of McConnellsburg, PA, passed away Thursday, August 17th, at his residence.

Warren was born in McConnellsburg, PA on May 7, 1954, a son of the late Betty G. (Truax) and Sebert A. Howell. He was the husband of Tammy L. (Lininger) Howell, whom he married on June 14, 1980.

Warren did construction work throughout his life and was also a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, hunting mushrooms, hot rodding and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Warren is survived by his son Christopher L. Howell of McConnellsburg, PA and daughter Sheena M. (wife of Brad) Huff of Bedford, PA. He is also survived by his sister Charlotte V. (wife of Bill) Lake of McConnellsburg, PA, brother Arthur W. Howell of McConnellsburg, PA granddaughter Mavis L. Howell of McConnellsburg, PA and grandson Rafe D. Howell of Mercersburg, PA. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Journey Howell and sister Coletta Hendershot.

There will be a visitation held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 4 PM to 8 PM. at the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA.

1326 WARREN — Earl C. “Butch” Rupert, 78, died 10:47 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, at home.

He was born June 6, 1943, in Milton, Pa., the son of William Kenneth and Mary Magdalene Lester Rupert. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was employed with Van Huffel and then worked at Delphi Packard Electric.

Survivors include his children, Kimberly Ehlke of Gaylord, Minn., and William K. Rupert II and Rachel Dunn, both of Warren; his brother, Jack Lester of Tunnelton, W.Va.; a sister, Joani Jiannine of Yelleville, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Harvey; and two brothers.

A memorial service is expected to take place in the spring 2021. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, Warren.

1331 WATERLOO - Michelle D. Cook Wolterman, 37, of Walford, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Jan. 3, at her home of a heart arrhythmia.

She was born Feb. 17, 1970, in Waterloo, daughter of Jerry and Sonya Annette Cook. She married Craig Wolterman March 8, 2003, at the Cedar Falls Rotary Reserve.

She graduated from West High, from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA and from the University of Iowa with an MBA. She had worked for Verizon (MCI) for 12 years as a business analyst.

Survived by her husband; a daughter, Emily Annette; her mother, Sonya (Dave) Snyder of Waterloo; her father, Jerry (Doreen) Cook of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Susan Cook and Shannon (Mark) Melcher, both of Waterloo; two nephews, Andrew and Benjamin Melcher; an aunt, Sheryl Annette; and her mother-in-law, Arlene (Denny) Alspach of Carroll.

Preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ralph and Doris Annette; paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Mildred Cook; and her father-in-law, Raphael "Ray" Wolterman.

Services 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethel Presbyterian Church, preceded by burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

A memorial fund will be established for Emily's education.

1332 Wavalene Holsinger Adams died on January 6, 2020 just weeks after her 81st birthday. She was born on December 16, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, as the only child to Eugene and Ruth Holsinger. Her childhood and teenage years were spent in Covington and Rosewood, Ohio, surrounded by generations of family members.

She grew-up on a farm raising hogs, exhibiting them and her crafts in 4H and county fair. Cats were her love when she left the farm behind. She gifted her crafts of sewing, crocheting, and creating cards to her friends and family throughout her life. Any chance she got, she listened and participated in making music, including playing her accordion and singing for church, school, and social events.

Wavalene married Gayrald Adams on Christmas Day in 1959. They joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1966, and were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 1974. They raised their family in Springfield, Ohio; Flint and Holly, Michigan; and Gilbert, Arizona, which has been her home for the past 38 years. In church, she served in the Primary and Relief Society organizations, as a librarian, and in the choir.

Gayrald passed away in 2004, and Wavalene was supported and sustained by neighbors, friends, and loving church members.

She is survived by her sons, Ed (Gwen) Adams of Springville, Utah; Dave (Melodi) Adams of Lindon, Utah; and Andy Adams of Gilbert, Arizona, who has been her primary caregiver for 15 years; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.--Valley of the Sun Mortuary and Cemetery

Wayne Bruce Hamrick, 81 of Mill Creek passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown WV. He was born June 26, 1944 in Webster Springs to Okey J. and Minnie Evelyn (Simmons)Hamrick.

Wayne was a jack of all trades, he was a Coal miner, Built & run his own sawmill, and worked as an undertaker for Dodd & Reed Funeral Home.

He enjoyed hunting, refurbishing furniture, and Gardening.

He was a woodsman and a lifelong resident of Webster County.

1335 WEBSTER SPRINGS - Wilda Cowger, 68, of Webster Springs, W.Va., died Aug. 20, 2003, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown following an extended illness.

She was born March 15, 1935, in Bergoo, W.Va. She was a caregiver for Mountain Cap, a member of Nter, stf ew Life Baptist Church, and a lifelong resident of Webster County.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Springston; mother, Estella Hedger Springston; son, James Conley; granddaughter, Gerri Nicole McCourt.

Survivors include her husband, Junior L. Cowger of Webster Springs; sons, Roger Cowger and Stephen Cowger, both of Webster Springs; daughters, Susan Cowger, Shawna Krautheim and Stella McCourt, all of Webster Springs; brother, William Springston of Burns, Ore.; sister, Helen Ridgeway of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Graveside memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Lick Run Cemetery , Hacker Valley with the Rev. Terry Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Lick Run Cemetery .

The funeral procession will leavc Dodd &amp; Reed Funeral Home, Webster Springs at 1:15 p.m. Sunday.

He was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge in Indiana, a member of the Teamster's Union and attended Gladeview United Methodist Church near Cowen.

Surviving: sons, John and Dennis, of Webster Springs; daughters, Karen Kinney and Cheryl Hamrick, of Webster Springs; brother, Charles of Powersite, Mo.; sister, June Tracy of Romulus, Mich.; half-brothers, Carlan, Leon, Jim McElwain, Robert McElwain, Paul McElwain; half-sisters, Carolyn Bellanco, Gloria Mustoe, Dorothy Mustoe, Sandra Mustoe; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Susan M. Blumenschein Brookhart, 27, of Sidney, Ohio, formerly of Marysville, Ohio, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a 2001 graduate of Marysville High School.

Susan possessed a very caring and compassionate heart that was shown in her work as a caregiver to the elderly and as a junior volunteer with Memorial Hospital of Union County. More than anything, she was a devoted, loving and very proud mother to her beautiful 6-year-old daughter, Skylynn.

She was born Dec. 7, 1982, in Sidney.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Wilbert H. Ruesler; paternal grandparents, Arthur and Katherine Blumenschein; and an aunt, Janet Stoffle.

Along with her daughter, Skylynn, survivors include her parents, Dudley and Charlotte Ruesler Blumenschein of Marysville; a brother, Michael (Bethany) Blumenschein and their son, Samuel, of Riverview, Fla.; maternal grandmother, Ida L. Ruesler of Jackson; aunts and uncles, Nancy (John) Howard of Marysville, Marilyn (Wayne) Ferkel of St. Louis, Sharon (Bill) Laxton of Scott City, Wayne (Jae) Ruesler of Sikeston, Mo., Frank (Teresa) Stoffle of Snellville, Ga.; several great-aunts, great-uncles; and many cousins.

1338 Weisenberg Kathleen Weisenberg, age 69, of Westerville, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 12, 2015 with her family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 4, 1946 in Columbus, OH, the youngest child to the late Everett and Elsie Bump. Kathleen grew up in Marysville and was a 1964 graduate of Marysville H.S. where she was involved in many clubs and activities. She graduated from Otterbein College in 1968 with a B.A. in Education. Kathleen taught at various elementary schools all in the Westerville school system. She was an educator who touched many lives and made a difference. Kathleen loved being a teacher and was an education professional. Above all, Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, and a dear grandmother. She was the best mom you could ask for and had an extraordinary unique bond and relationship with her grandson, Will. Kathleen looked forward to lunches and shopping with her friends. She very much enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She also enjoyed reading and traveling. Kathleen represented everything that was good and set the standard for excellence. She was highly loved and respected by everyone who ever met her and lit up a room with her smile. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her brother Richard Bump. Kathleen will be missed by her husband of almost 43 years, Bill; daughters, Lisa (Brian) Arnett and Leslie Weisenberg; grandson, Will Arnett; brother, Duane (Karen) Bump; sister-in-law, Laura Bump; and her grand-dog, Oliver. 1339 Wende Jean Bodey, 50, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2016 following a short illness.

Wende was born on November 22, 1966 in Springfield, Ohio. She dabbled in many interests throughout her childhood, including softball, track and field, and Girl Scouts. She graduated with a court reporting certificate from Clark County JVS in 1984 and married her high school sweetheart, Greg, in 1986. They raised two children and enjoyed attending their school and sporting events as well as traveling together as a family.

Wende’s creativity and independent spirit led her to her calling as an entrepreneur. She opened and operated a successful medical billing service for fifteen years, then later opened a small retail store and made and sold gourmet baked goods and chocolates. Wende loved to cook and bake, do crafts, and was an avid animal lover. A doting grandmother and aunt, she enjoyed spending time with family most of all.

Wende is survived by her husband, Greg, daughter Michelle (Brian) Rieman, son Doug Bodey (Christine Beaser), granddaughter Nora Rieman, parents Sandra and Jack Grody, sisters Joni (Lynn) Coressel and Kristy (Roger) Holmes, and twelve nieces and nephews, as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 22 from 3:00-4:30 at Jackson Lytle &amp; Lewis Life Celebration Center at 2425 North Limestone Street in Springfield. FLATWOODS - Clarence Wayne "Ted" Thayer, 85, of Flatwoods died May 6, 2001, in the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, Clarksburg, after a long illness.

He was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Braxton County, a son of the late G. Cleve and Maggie Wayne Thayer.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Charles, Russell, Cecil, Herbert and Everett Thayer, and nephew, Ronnie Davis.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II having service in the 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment in the South Pacific, including the airborne
assault on Corregidor during the Philippine liberation from the Japanese army.

He was a former employee of Babcock &amp; Wilcox, Akron, Ohio, and was retired from High's Dairy Plant, Washington, D.C.

Surviving are sons, Dale of Walton, Donald of Craigsville; sister, Leta Thayer Davis of Flatwoods; grandchildren, Kristi, Jamie and Callie Thayer; several nieces
and nephews.

Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home,
Sutton, with the Rev. William Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Braxton County Cemetery, near Sutton.

1344 Wilbur D. "Jack" Moffitt, 77, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away August 3, 2010 at OVMC.
He was born September 3, 1932, a son of the late George F. Moffitt and Georgia Neff Moffitt.

He is survived by wife, Mae Booth Moffitt; son, Jim Moffitt of Blue Mountain, MS; daughters, Tammy Moffitt of New Martinsville and Mary Yost of Booneville, MS; sisters, Wanda Allen of Moundsville and Jane Thompson of Live Oak, FL; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Jack Moffitt, two grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.

Services will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at Myers Funeral Home with Reverend Raymond Klages officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Simpson Chapel.

1345 William "Bill" Leffel, Jr., who was affectionately called "Bump", passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Allegiance Health in Jackson.

He was born on May 9, 1938 in Jackson, Michigan to William Sr. and Lois (McCollum) Leffel.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy; three children, Jo Lynn Curry, Randy (Amy) Leffel and Dawn (Shane) Robinson; four grandchildren, Andrea (Joe) Weir, Chip (Emily) Curry, Lauren Leffel and Danielle Holland; five great grandchildren, Kaden, Aiden, Jakob, Colton and Caroline; one sister, Luana Alexander; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; two sisters, Laura Adams and Charlene Clark and his mother-in-law, Virginia Hatch.

Bill was a wonderful, dedicated family man who loved to play with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed repairing small engines, tinkering in his shop and helping his family with anything at all, whether they needed it or not.

He was well known throughout the community and spent 52 years on the Hanover Township Fire Department, retiring as a Captain. In 2008, he was both humbled and honored to receive a Special Tribute from the State of Michigan for his dedication and exemplary service to the Hanover Township Fire Department.
In addition to this special tribute, he also received a resolution proclaiming October 18th as the William Leffel Jr. day in honor of his years of service to Hanover Township.
The family is especially grateful to the Hanover Township Fire Department, JCA and the staff in the Emergency Room at Allegiance Health for their heroic efforts, kindness and compassion. A memorial service to honor the life of Bill was held at the Hillside United Methodist Church, Horton with Pastor Pat Pebley officiating.

1347 William "David" Pollock, 79, of 13348 Priddy Road, Van Wert, died at 9:21 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born April 27, 1926, in York Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late William Ernest and Alwilda (Sherman) Pollock. On July 19, 1947, he married Virginia J. Foreman, who survives at the residence.
Mr. Pollock was a farmer and was employed at Pollock Turkey Farms for 40 years. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the LST 534. He was a life member of Isaac Van Wert Post 178, American Legion, where he was on the board of trustees for more than 20 years. He also was a member of Voiture 154, 40 et 8, a life member of Robert G. Longwell Post 5803, Veterans of Foreign Wars, in Van Wert. He also was an avid bowler, loved fishing and gardening and liked to watch NASCAR and the Cleveland Indians.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Steve (Diana) Pollock of Van Wert; three daughters, Lynn (Ed) Miller of Middle Point, Jill (Cliff) Tarlton of Tucson, Ariz., and Jan (Mike) Glass of St. Marys; seven brothers, Murlin J. (Pat) Pollock and Wayne (Louise) Pollock, both of Van Wert, Richard M. (Mary) Pollock of Sumter, S.C., Ernest (Ann) Pollock of Phoenix, Ariz., Edward (Phyllis) Pollock of Lima, Frank (Barbara) Pollock of Middle Point and Carl (Karen) Pollock of South Carolina; two sisters, Elsie M. Long of Middle Point and Shirley (Harold) Wagoner of Delphos; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley Pollock and Gene Pollock, and two sisters, Betty Miller and Joann Robidoux.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 15, at Cowan &amp; Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Matt Braun officiating. Burial will be in King Cemetery in Washington Township, Van Wert County, with graveside military rites by the combined honors units of Legion Post 178 and VFW Post 5803.
Viewing hours are from 2-8 p.m. Saturday, January 14, and an hour prior to services Sunday at the funeral home.

Salisbury - William "Joe" Bryant, 75, passed away, July 9, 2017 in Salisbury, Maryland. A private burial was held July 13th at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Blades, Delaware near the Nanticoke River.

Born in 1941 in Washington, DC, to Marion and Viola (Mills) Bryant, Joe was a gifted athlete and played various varsity sports for Anacostia High School. He was a printer and later foreman in the DC Government Printing Office for 35 years. Upon retirement, Joe moved to his beloved Eastern Shore where he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, bird watching and making friends.

Joe is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Elena Bryant, and his daughter and son-in-law, Karen Bryant and Christopher Eandi, and three grandchildren. He also leaves behind a surviving sister, four brothers and many dear friends.

Memorial donations may be made to Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD or the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

1350 William Burton Lawson born Feb. 3, 1971, in Painesville, Ohio, to parents Linda R. Evans (Philip) and William W. Lawson (Mary). He graduated from Ben Eielson High School in 1989 and went on to join the military. He drew his last breath in Seattle, Washington, on Feb. 11, 2023, mainly we suspect to prevent himself from having to watch the hated Eagles in the Super Bowl. A loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, he died peacefully surrounded by family with support of co-workers.

Wil was known to share his innate wisdom and love anyone lucky enough to call him family or friend. He was thoughtful, compassionate and not afraid to share an opinion. He inspired friends to live, give back and share their unique gifts afforded to them with others. He had a passion for photography, and the Alaska Range gave him many opportunities to capture the beauty. Other hobbies included writing poetry, watching the Cowboys play and sharing his love of music with friends.

A strong commitment to strive, he served in the 168th Alaska Air National Guard and volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club. Wil was devoted to his godson from the first day he was born and did not take his responsibility lightly. His godson, Tristan, was the light of his life and stated in a letter to the family, "Nothing should be taken for granted in this lifetime. Life is short."

Along with his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Rebecca and Elizabeth Lawson; his brother, Jesse Chumbley-Lawson; nieces, Cassandra Lawson and Melyssa Perez; nephews, Jacob Woodward and Isaac Perez; godson, Tristian Chase; and his parents, Dana and Lance Chase.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at The Lighthouse at Door of Hope Church in Fairbanks.
