He leaves behind his beloved wife Georgia Robertson Morris, and his 6 children: Meagan, Carole, Chelsea and Emmett Morris living at home in Pasadena, Amy Morris of Pasadena and George and Jennifer Smith of League City. He has four grandchildren Kayla & Joey Smith, and Brianna and Jamie Morris. He is survived by 2 sisters and 2 brothers: Marguerite (Linda) & Dale Dowell and Melissa (Liza) Rauhecker of Pasadena, Milford (Mike) & Paula Morris of Levittown, PA, and Malcolm Morris of Missouri. Morgan was born in Gassaway West Virginia to Margaret Ann Holcomb Morris and George William Morris Jr., both preceded him in death.His greatest love was his family. He was a long time employee of Gulbrandsen Tech. He will be sadly missed by his friends and relatives. His family would like to thank all, for their time, thoughts, prayers and generosity given. | 911 | Morris E. Leffel, 88, of Wapakoneta, died 2:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. He was born Oct. 8, 1931, the son of Walter and Violet (Truesdale) Leffel, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 26, 1954, he married Juanita J. Richardson, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Lynn (Ted) Rupert, Wapakoneta, Neil (Cheryl Semer) Leffel, Lima; a son-in-law, Kel Welch, Wapakoneta; seven grandchildren, Tonia (Rich) Metz, Nicole (Brock) Douglas, Stephanie Hardison, Kylie (Eli) Acheson, Taylor Rupert, K.C. (Jeana) Welch, Kendall Welch; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Joe Leffel, St. Marys, Tom (Ann) Leffel, New Knoxville, Carolyn (Roger - deceased) Bambauer, New Knoxville, Marilyn (James) Lauth, St. Marys, Linda (Ned - deceased) Niemeyer, New Knoxville, Sharon (Steve - deceased) Kruse, New Knoxville, Joyce (Don - deceased; Jim - deceased) Meyer-Raterman, Botkins. Morris was a carpenter with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America, Local #372, and worked for Peterson Construction, Tuttle Construction, Stedke Construction, and Stinebaugh Construction. He was a member of the Buckland United Church of Christ and the American Legion, Post #444, New Knoxville. Morris was an OSU Buckeye fan. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed gardening, mowing the yard, and woodworking; although, his real pride and joy were his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Morris served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, at the Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Pastors Adrian Sunday and Dennis Gaertner officiating. Burial will follow in the Buckland Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the New Knoxville Veterans. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday and one hour prior to the funeral Saturday at the funeral home. | 912 | Mr. Carl Edward Linkenhoker Sr., 77, of Covington, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, Mechanicsville. He was the husband of the late Sandra Lane Linkenhoker. Mr Linkenhoker was born May 9, 1937, in Eagle Rock, the son of the late Thomas Edgar Linkenhoker Sr, and Elsie Dillon Linkenhoker. He served in the Virginia National Guard. Eddie was employed as a machinist by Westvaco. He was a member of Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Covington Masonic Lodge 171 AF@AM. Mr Linkenhoker is survived by one son, Carl E Linkenhoker Jr, and wife Amanda of Covington, and a daughter Joanna L Barni and husband Anthony of Mechanicsville, two grandsons and a granddaughter, four brothers, Curtis L, Lewis A, Ronald G and Gary W Linkenhoker. In additions to his parents and wife, Mr Linkenhoker was preceded in death by a sister, Linda L. Craig, two brothers Donald I Linkenhoker and Thomas E Linkenhoker Jr. The funeral service was on Sunday, March 29, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with the Rev James Rodden officiating. | 914 | Mr. Donald Gene Culler, 74 originally from Mt. Airy passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 in Niceville, FL. He was born in Surry County on May 20, 1939 to the late Gene Beamer and Irene Doss Culler. Donald graduated from Copeland High School in 1957. As a high school student, Donald was very proud of being a bus driver from the time he got his license until graduation. He always talked about growing up on the farm in Copeland and helping his dad work in his sawmill. Donald's first public job took him to Elkin, NC with Chatham Manufacturing. In 1965 he started to work with Central Telephone Company in Elkin which eventually lead him to Tallahassee, FL. He loved the mountains, but he loved Florida even more and he was an avid Florida State University Fan. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Craig Tesh, Donna and Larry Hall all of Mt. Airy, April and Thomas Martin of Tallahassee, FL; a son Donald Edward "Eddie" Culler of Tallahassee, FL; five grandchildren and two spouses, Crystal and David Hamlin, Sara Shelton Moser, Ben Davis all Mt. Airy, Sydney and Alexandria Davis of Raleigh, Dillon Martin of Tallahassee, FL; one great grandchild, Sam Hamlin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Rachel Culler of Pinnacle and Roy and Jean Culler of Pilot Mountain; and numerous nieces and nephews. | 915 | Mr. John Andrew Crites, age 87, of Stonewood, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. Mr. Crites was born on July 21, 1926 in Sutton, WV, son of the late Beverly W. Crites and Beulah Mae Keener Mooter. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters and a brother. Mr. Crites was in the US Army where he served WWII, Korea, and Vietnam wars. He was a life long member of the VFW, American Legion and Eagles. He is survived by, companion of many years, Pauline Lane, of Stonewood; step-son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Samantha McKenzie, of Rainelle; daughter, Taunya D. Littleton, of California; 5 grandchildren; and several other relatives also survive. | 916 | Mr. Raymond Councell, age 76, of Mena, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at his home. He was born October 7, 1932 in Galesburg, Michigan. He was united in marriage to the late Wanda Mae Chilson Councell. He was a licensed electrician and was the electrical inspector for the City of Coldwater and well as serving as Captain of the Coldwater Fire Department. Mr. Councell was also a veteran, serving his country in the United States Air Force. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. | 917 | Mr. Terry L. Whited, 53, of LaGrange passed away Friday, October 7, 2011, at West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Whited was born December 20, 1957, in Elyria, Ohio, son of the late Charles E. Whited and Erma Marie Hall Smith. He was a devoted member of Long Cane Baptist Church. Mr. Whited had a degree in electronics and was a dedicated employee at Interface Flor for 20 years as a maintenance technician. Mr. Whited was a man of integrity with a generous heart, always willing to help and putting the needs of others ahead of his own. He believed in supporting charitable organizations, and donated blood to the American Red Cross regularly. Mr. Whited served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He enjoyed collecting coins and was an avid car collector. He was a loving, husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Judy Whited, of LaGrange; children, Justin (Brandi) Whited, of LaGrange; Patrick Whited, Of Phoenix, AZ, and Kelly Whited, of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandchildren, Honest Whited and Bryson Whited; a brother, Eddie Whited, of West Point; a sister, Joyce Ogletree, of Lanett, AL; a brother and his wife, Stephen and Carol Whited, of LaGrange; a half brother, Ricky Whited, of Grafton, OH; and several nieces and nephews. He was retired from Farm Services and Monroe Industries, he was of the Christian faith. He married his wife Marcia Diane (Lucy) Dobbins on March 30, 1979. She was born on November 16, 1918 in Columbus, KS to James Imel and Mamie Nash Imel. Mrs. Maxwell a retired 1st grade teacher and was a member of the Faulkner Christian Church. Survivors include four daughters; Connie Casey of Joplin, Joyce Heflin of Joplin, Carol Sue Sloan of Baxter Springs and Bonnie Feist of Chetopa; a son James Maxwell of Chetopa; 15 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death her husband Ralph E. Maxwell in 1981 and also a son Richard Maxwell. Mrs. Maxwell has been taken for cremation with no formal services. | 923 | Mrs. Helen Mary Whaley Jeffries, age 84, of Brookdale Place, Lenoir, NC went on to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She was born in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Reta and Rex Whaley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Jeffries; one brother, Edward Whaley; three sisters, Maude Chatman, Jane McMackin and Jo Ann Hood; a grandson, William Grey Jeffries; and one granddaughter, Jacquline Shea Watson. Mrs. Jeffries was retired from the Salvation Army Thrift Store. She was a member of West Lenoir Baptist Church and a member of the West Lenoir Choir. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Watson and husband Scott of Kernersville, NC ; one son, Richard Jeffries and wife Virginia “Ginny” of Lenoir; one granddaughter, Katie Jeffries; three grandsons, Aaron Pfahlert and Brandon Pfahlert of Lenoir, NC, and Shaun W. Watson of Kernersville, NC; five great grandchildren, Tyler, Ashlyn, Zack, Christian and Mary; she is also survived by a host of friends and church family. | 924 | Mrs. Jean D. "Duddy" Gaver, 88, of Frederick, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Homewood at Crumland Farms. She was the wife of the late James E. Gaver. Born in Frederick on June 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Ruth Buckey Dutrow. Duddy was a graduate of the class of 1950, School of Nursing at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She had worked for 39 years at Frederick Memorial in many capacities. She was a member of the FMH Alumni Nurses Association and was a life long member of the Grace United Church of Christ on East Second Street, Frederick, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Surviving are her children, Nancy J. Weeks, of Frederick and Steven K. Gaver and wife Mamie Weber Gaver, of Clover, SC, four grandchildren, Ashleigh Glod and husband Alex. of San Diego, CA, Timothy Miller, of Frederick, Jared Gaver and wife Ashley, of Lewis Center, OH, and Keith Gaver and wife Janelle, of Waynesville, OH, great grandchildren, Ethan, Izabelle, George and Archer. | 925 | Mrs. Judy Schwalbauch Hamilton of Cave City, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the age of 54. She was born September 13, 1962 in Circleville, Ohio, the daughter of Larry and Rosemary (Adams) Schwalbauch. Mrs. Hamilton was a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed deer hunting and quilting. She was always willing to open up her home, and together she and Mr. Hamilton were foster parents for six years, taking in 58 total kids. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Schwalbauch; and one grandson, Michael Ware. | 926 | Mrs. M. Eileen Johnson, age 87 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, July 8, 2016 peacefully at her home. Eileen was born October 5, 1928 in Kirksville, Mo. the daughter of Edgar “Crispy” and Mary Irene Glynn Ward. She was married on May 5, 1951 in Jefferson City, Mo. to Charles Johnson. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Eileen was a 1946 graduate of St. Peters High School. She graduated from the Jefferson City Junior College and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Eileen was employed for thirty-nine years with the Missouri State Senate where she was elected the Director of Enrolling and Engrossing by the Senators. She retired on January 1, 1997. Previously, she was employed with the Missouri Dept. of Conservation and the Cole County Prosecuting Attorney Office. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Immaculate Conception Church Circle, St. Mary’s Hospital Auxiliary, and the Ya Ya Girls. Eileen enjoyed playing bridge with “The Bridge Club”, crossword puzzles, antiquing and was an avid reader. She also loved watching birds, playing golf, traveling, shopping, going to the casinos and going out to eat with her friends and having a martini. Survivors include: her husband of sixty-five years, Charles Johnson; one daughter, Crissy Wilson and her husband Dexter of Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Gloria Johnson of Jefferson City, Mo.; one niece, Ruthi Sturdevant and her husband Craig of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Mildred “Millie” Swackhamer of Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, Andrew Johnson, Crystal Johnson, and Rebecca Seward and her husband Greg; three great-grandchildren, Lilliane Seward, Gwendolyn Seward, and Genevieve Seward; and two great nephews, Ben Sturdevant and Casey Sturdevant. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Johnson on July 1, 2000; one sister, Pat Ward Jones; one niece, Kathy Jones Potter; and two brothers-in-law, K.C. Jones and Robert “Pete” Swackhamer. Visitation will be at the Cathedral of St. Joseph from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016. She is survived by sisters; Angela and Jennifer Wamsley, maternal grandmother, Emmogene Hoover; paternal grandmother, Reba F. Wamsley, several uncles, aunts and cousins. Myra was a 1998 graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School and was graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2003 with a major in elementry education. Myra loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. She loved teaching children, was a former little league softball coach. She worked her way through college as a security guard at Trus Joist MacMillan and was employed by the Upshur County School System as a substitute teacher. She had recently been hired as the assistant coach for the high school girls softball team. She was born December 9, 1951 in Philippi to the late Earl Thornton and Lillian Marine Skeens Tracy and was a lifelong resident of Webster County. She was a member of Upper Holly Union Mission Church and attended when her health permitted. She also was a Sunday School teacher. Eppy was a loving Christian, Mother and Nanny. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and playing games on her phone. She previously was a caretaker for the elderly and volunteered at Diana Grade School when her girls were in school and was known as the “Popcorn Lady”. Eppy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren. She always wore a smile and was the most kindhearted person you would ever meet. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lindell “Dink” Tracy; sisters: Sondra O’Dell and her husband Bill, Linda Cowger, Veda Hamrick and her husband Frank, and Ellen Sturm and her husband Howard; brother-in-law Gary Cochran; sister-in-law Karen Tracy; special friend Bessie Pritt; and several nieces. Nell graduated from Edgerton High School in 1948 and then attended St. Joseph Junior College. She taught at the Franklin School and the North Platte School District in Edgerton. In her later years she served as a substitute teacher and a teacher's aid for various local school districts. On November 21, 1951, she was united in marriage to Harold Allen Heath. After their marriage, they lived near Ridgely and later moved to their current home where they farmed, north of Edgerton. She was a former member of the Edgerton Methodist Church, where she was active in Vacation Bible School, was a Sunday School Teacher and was the church treasurer for 21 years. Nell was a member of the Ridgely Christian Church and the Order of the Eastern Star in Edgerton. Nell was involved with 4-H for nine years and served as a Community Leader. She was named Beta Sigma Phi Sorority Woman of the Year in 1984. Nell was involved in PTA and FFA, as well as her children and grandchildren's activities. Nell was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Charles Edwin Johnson and Howard Johnson, and one sister, Mary Frances Smith. She is survived by her husband, Harold, of the home; one son, Ed Heath and wife Melissa, Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Deanna Adkins and husband Vernon, Camden Point, Mo.; three grandsons, Jacob Adkins, Joshua Heath, and Grant Adkins; nieces and nephews Linda Garner, Cheryl Phillips, Judy Johnson, Chuck Johnson, Harold Smith and Marion Millay; numerous great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
