  Notes	Cindy C. May, 48, of Ashland passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at The Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 24, 1964, in Cowen, W.Va., to Jessie L. and Janet (née Hall) Brooks. She grew up in the Spencer area and graduated from Black River High School in 1982. Cindy and her husband, Luke, have resided in Ashland the past 1 ½ years. She was a former employee of Modern Tool and Die in Valley City for 10 years. Surviving are her husband, Luke May, to whom she was married for more than 30 years; children, Daniel (Julieann) May of Virginia Beach, Va., Timothy Jon May of Virginia Beach, Va., Elizabeth Ann May of Rittman, Amanda Carlene (Brodie) Remington of Rittman and Olivia Renee May of Ashland; her mother, Janet Brooks of West Salem; along with seven grandchildren; four brothers, Kenny (Robin) Hall of Homerville, Kevin (Wilma) Brooks of Sullivan, Harry (Sue) Hall of Chatham, and Warren Brooks of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her father, Jessie Lee Brooks; brother, Chris Brooks; sister, Dinah Brooks; and infant sisters, Caroline and Carlene Brooks. Funeral service will take place 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Parker & Son Funeral Home, 202 E. Main St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Spencer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at the funeral home. Parker & Son Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
