He was a retired truck driver and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW and Moose Lodge in Indiana, a member of the Teamster's Union and attended Gladeview United Methodist Church near Cowen.
Surviving: sons, John and Dennis, of Webster Springs; daughters, Karen Kinney and Cheryl Hamrick, of Webster Springs; brother, Charles of Powersite, Mo.; sister, June Tracy of Romulus, Mich.; half-brothers, Carlan, Leon, Jim McElwain, Robert McElwain, Paul McElwain; half-sisters, Carolyn Bellanco, Gloria Mustoe, Dorothy Mustoe, Sandra Mustoe; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home, Cowen, with the Rev. Arlin Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Cowen.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
