    • Paul Howard Goelzer, Sr., 75, of Mansfield, TX, passed peacefully on to his heavenly home on September 13, 2018 in Dallas surrounded by his family who loved him so much. Paul was born February 2, 1943 in Glen Cove, NY to Charles and Constance Goelzer. One of three brothers, Paul graduated from North Shore High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University. While at WVU, Paul met the love of his life Susan Clevenger and they married on August 29, 1964.
      Paul entered the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant and served in Okinawa as an executive and supply officer. Paul was later promoted to Captain while in the Reserves.
      Paul was a successful businessman/entrepreneur who founded Goelzer Industries, a best in class national envelope manufacturer and printing company. As owner/CEO, Paul was much loved as an energetic and positive leader to his employees, customers and suppliers. Paul was a loving husband and wonderful father to his family. He was always encouraging and generous as he led his family with smiles and laughter. Paul loved life and never sat down. He was always happy and danced through life. Paul travelled the world with his best friend and wife, Susan and their family. He also enjoyed all beach activities at their South Padre Island residence and skiing in Colorado and Utah. Paul was also a prolific triathlete/runner as he competed in over 100 races. Highlights include competing in the 2009/2010 NYC Triathlon, 2010 Chicago Triathlon, 2011 NYC Marathon, 2012 Paris Marathon and 2012 Iceland Half Marathon.
      His parents Charles and Constance and, his brother, Alan, precede Paul in death. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Susan, his daughter Connie and husband Ross, his son Paul Jr. and wife Carolyn and son Gregory Patrick, and his grandchildren Anne, Ross II, Alexander and Grace Crutchfield and Elizabeth and Sophie Goelzer. He is also survived by his brother Bill Goelzer and wife Joyce along with numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his favorite dog Dutch and the ducks in his pond. Paul will be greatly missed by all.
      The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington. A funeral service celebrating Paul’s life will be held Saturday, September 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mansfield with a reception to follow at Goelzer Industries. A private committal service will be held at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington.
