She was born March 11, 1952, in Webster Springs, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Goodridge A. and Maxine (Carpenter) McCourt. Linda was a member of the Black Horse Baptist Church. She worked at many places throughout her life including East Park Restaurant and Lowes. Linda was a talented seamstress and enjoyed playing cards, camping, and watching racing.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years Howard A. Strawser, her brothers and sisters: Truman (Jane) McCourt of Deerfield, Vance (Chlorine) McCourt of Deerfield, Mildred Stanley of Webster Springs, WV, Wesley (Debbie) McCourt of Alliance, Nada (Ray) Roosa of Deerfield, and Goodridge McCourt Jr. of Webster Springs, WV, as well as her step-daughter Shirley (Phil) Hinzman, her step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Hoy D. McCourt.
Friends will be received Wednesday, November 7, 2012, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. Reverend Dallas Sanford will officiate the funeral service immediately following at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at the Isaac McCourt Cemetery in Webster Springs.
