Notes	BURLEY H. FRIEND SR. Services for Burley H. Friend Sr., a retired machinist, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main St., Gasport. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton. Friend, a former Gasport resident, died Wednesday (Nov. 15, 2000) in Newfane Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was 91. Born in Frametown, W.Va., he worked as a watch repairman in Sutton, W.Va., for 25 years before moving to Gasport in 1963. He worked as a machinist at Lobbee Pump in Gasport for 29 years, retiring in 1979. His wife, Geneva Carpenter Friend, died in 1991. He is survived by two sons, Burley H. Jr. of Lockport and Ernest P. of Gasport; two daughters, Norma J. Barnett of Washington Court, Ohio, and Velma J. of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Forest of Sutton and Aubert of Charleston, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
