[2] Notes - On June 2, 2013, Norma died peacefully in Tiger, Georgia at the home of her son surrounded by family and her beloved pooch BeeGee. Norma was born on January 23, 1923 in St. Paris, Ohio, the eldest daughter of Virgil H. Jenkins and Vertie Diebert Jenkins. A lifelong resident of Mt. Vernon, Virginia, Norma enjoyed gardening and entertaining at her riverfront home. Her favorite hobby was needlepointing, and she created many lovely pieces for friends, family, and the Church of St. Andrew and St. Margaret of Scotland that she and her husband, Stephen Hartwell, attended for many years. Norma was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward M. Bostick (1969); her husband, Stephen Hartwell (2011); and her parents, Harry and Vertie Jenkins. She is survived by her beloved sister, Mrs. Robert L. Welsh, Sr. (Ruby), who resides at the Ohio Masonic Home in Springfield; her children, Warren and Liz; and daughter-in-law Rochelle; grandchildren, David Graham, Kelly, Sarah, and Ericka; her nephew, Lee Welsh; and special friends, Betty Heilig, and Dusty and Ginger Rhodes. Graveside service and interment will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 8 at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, 6600 South Kings Hwy., Alexandria, VA 22306. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Friends For Life Forever Farm, P.O. Box 340, Sapphire, NC 28774, and The Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Special thanks to Amedisys Hospice of Toccoa, Georgia, and Visiting Angels of Toccoa, Georgia.
