She died peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer.She was born on Dec. 31, 1942 at her home on Buffalo Run near Burnsville, WV. She was a daughter of the late John and Ercie Conrad Barrett. She lived in Buckhannon, WV for many years where she was employed at Reidboard Brothers and Tenny’s Grocery.On Sept. 12, 1996 she married Wade “Buck” Gregory. He preceded her in death on Sept. 30, 2008. Also preceding her in death were her parents and four brothers, Marvin, John, Richard and Dewey.Rena is survived by her sisters: Mary Davis of North Jackson, OH, Mildred (Virgil) Jackson of Hiram, OH, Madge (John) Wines and Lena Barrett both of Buckhannon, WV; Three step-children, Joyce (Wilbur) Gregory Rose of Napier, WV, Frank (Donna) Gregory and Charles Gregory both of Sutton, WV; two step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.Rena was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed walking with her beloved pets and sitting on her porch.Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday Jan. 12, 2011 at Stockert-Sizemore Funeral Home in Flatwoods, WV with Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Burial was in Falls Mill Cemetery. Friends called from 6-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to either the Burnsville Hospice, PO Box 323 Burnsville, WV 26335 or Braxton County Animal Shelter, #10 Animal Shelter Lane, Sutton, WV. 26601
