She was a 1953 graduate of Cameron High School and a member of the Cameron United Methodist Church. On February 12, 1956, Joyce married John Dean Burkett and they were happily married for 48 years before he preceded her in death on October 26, 2003. She was also preceded by her parents and her daughter, Cyndi Bunge. Joyce and Dean owned and operated Burkett TV in Cameron for over 40 years, before retiring. Survivors: Son, Dr. Douglas Burkett, Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Susan and husband, Mike Hutchison, Hutchinson, KS; son-in-law, Marty Bunge, Williamsburg, IA; sister, Marlyn and husband, Larry Estep, Cameron; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services: 11:00 AM, Monday, December 12, 2011 at the Cameron United Methodist Church. Visitation: 10-11:00 AM, prior to the service at the church. Burial: Cameron Memory Gardens, Cameron. Memorial Fund: Hospice House of Arizona and/or American Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements by: Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron.
