- Marva Jean Harsh, 74, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune.
She was born March 27, 1934, in Picher, Okla., to George Washington Ping and Bertie Crosby Ping. She attended Picher Public School until the family moved to Coolidge in 1944. She then attended Coolidge High School and completed her education in 1951.
In 1951, she married Bob Mitchell and they made their home in Syracuse before divorcing. In 1958, she married Henry Harsh in Syracuse. He died in 1990. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Sharon Brown and Deloris Edenburn.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Harsh had lived in numerous places, including in Oklahoma and Colorado, and had lived in Tribune until her death. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards and dominoes, was a collector of various ceramic animals, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Harsh of Shelley, Idaho, and Richard Harsh of Kansas City, Kan.; three brothers, Stan Ping of Syracuse, Gerold Ping of McLouth, and Darrell Ping of Sand Springs, Okla.; two sisters, Loretta Eddy of Calhan, Colo., and Pat Storey of Emerald, Australia; and five grandchildren.
Funeral was at Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse.
