- Michelle Irene Runkle, 20, of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Private burial will occur at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Michelle was born on Oct. 6, 1987, in Columbia, Mo., to Ben and Pat Burwell Runkle, and they survive.
She was a 2006 graduate of Sturgeon High School where she served as the President of National Art Society and played all four years on the varsity basketball team. Michelle also played in Columbia on the Hustlers competitive basketball team. She attended Moberly Area Community College and had plans to begin classes at Columbia College this fall. She was currently employed as a Customer Service Representative at ASI Flex in Columbia. Her love for travel had taken her to Europe, Canada, New York and Chicago. She enjoyed spending time with her three Labrador dogs and will be remembered as someone who loved babysitting, especially her four second cousins, Gabbi, Landyn, Rebecca and Aiden.
To her friends, Michelle's family wants you all to know that she loved you very much.
She is also survived by one sister, Allison Runkle and her fiancé, Devan Arends; uncles, Mike Burwell and wife, Christi, Kyle Burwell and wife, Jill, Kenny Burwell and wife, Lisa, Steve Runkle and wife, Shelley; aunts, Ruth Burwell, Donna Roads and husband, Bob, Judy Seitz and husband, Jim; and many beloved cousins and second cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert and Clara Burwell and Ralph and Doris Runkle; and her cousin, Becky Hall.
