- Karl Ramon Wagner, 83, of Little Hocking, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2019, after a yearlong battle with cancer. He was born February 5, 1936 in Marietta, Ohio, son of the late Simon Zoller Wagner and Hilda Knox Wagner Devine.
He is a graduate of Parkersburg High School, class of 1955. He married this wife, Helen Garvin Wagner, 54 years ago in Parkersburg, WV. They raised their three children in Little Hocking, Ohio, where he was a dedicated husband and father. He spent his life tending to his family never having many hobbies outside of spending time with this wife, kids and grandkids. He loved nothing more than taking his family out for dinner and making sure their cars were clean and safe. In his retirement, he and his wife cared for two children who became like family, Emily Null and Maggie Null Starkey.
Karl earned his living at DuPont in Washington, WV, having worked there from June 1957 until his retirement in May of 1992. He was also proudly served his country as an Army reservist from Dec 1958 until Dec 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Garvin Wagner; his son Craig Wagner of Tucson, AZ; daughters Karla (Rick) Reynolds of Elm City, NC and Susan (Chris) Caputo of Clayton, NC, six grandkids, Jordan Reynolds, Corey Reynolds, Noah Reynolds, Lauren Harris, Madyson Wagner, Taylor Wagner and two step-grandkids, Ricky Reynolds and Michael Reynolds.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his only sister, Marilyn Phillips.
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, at 10 a.m., May 22, 2019 at the Rockland Cemetery, Belpre, Ohio. Leavitt Funeral Home, Belpre is assisting the family with arrangements.
