  Notes	Harold C. Doellinger, 96, a lifelong resident of Marysville, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Heartland of Marysville. He retired as Director of European Operations in Betzdorf, Germany from O.M. Scott and Sons after 39 years with the company. During his tenure with Scotts, he also was Director of Government Industry Relations in purchasing and production. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was baptized on March 2, 1917, confirmed on March 29, 1931 by the Rev. August Gerken and married on Oct 12, 1940 by Pastor Gerken. He served as elder, chairman of the congregation and Sunday school teach, and participated with the Men's Club. Until his death, he was the eldest living member of St. John's Church. A 1935 graduate of Marysville High School, he also attended Bliss College and Franklin University. Hew as a mobile meals volunteer for Memorial Hospital of Union County, transporting meals for 24 years. A former and past president of Marysville Kiwanis Club, he was also a charter member of the former Marysville Toastmaster Club. He served with the Ohio National Guard during World War II. He was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Marysville to the late J. Martin and Clara Weber Doellinger. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Martha L. Gerken Doellinger and his sister, Esther Bradley. He is survived by his children, Kathy Swithers and Douglas (Patti) Doellinger, both of Marysville, and John C. (Gail) Doellinger of Wimauma, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jenny (the Rev. Jim) Haugen of Strongsville, Becca (Randy) Reed of Vancouver, Wash., Dan (Julia)Doellinger of Chester, N.Y., Sarah (Bob) Cordisco of Monroe, N.Y., the Rev. Paul Doellinger of Cassopolis, Mich.; 14 great-grandchildren, James, Noah, Caleb, Adam, Isabel, Trevor, Hannah, Joshua, Rachel, Micah, Norah Lynne, Alexander, Christopher, and Kate; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jacob Heino will officiate and interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and during a reception at the school cafeteria following interment. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Church "Loving In Actions and In Truth" Program or the Organ Fund. Arrangements are being handled by Underwood Funeral Home.
