He was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Fort Wayne, the son of Russel and Evelyn (Baumert) Gebhart. In 1977, he married Kathleen Fisher, who survives. He worked at Uniroyal Goodrich, Woodburn, Ind., retiring in 1995, and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Payne.
Also surviving are three sons, Nicholas Soblinski and Douglas of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kenneth (Tana) Williams, Fort Wayne; four daughters, Gina Avila of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Patricia Langston, Debra Breeden and Summer Hamilton of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Roger (Dottie) and Bruce of Payne; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Sharon) Berryhill, Payne; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul United Methodist Church, Payne, with Pastor Amy Haines officiating. Burial will be in Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday in Slade-Den Herder Funeral Home, Payne, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
