ROBERT STETZEL, 84, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Parkview North Hospital. Born in Huntington, he founded Stetzel Dental Group and practiced dentistry for over 50 years, retiring in 2002. He was Past President of the Indiana Dental Association as well as the local component, the Isaac Knapp District Dental Society. He was a founding charter member of the Isaac Knapp Foundation for Education, additionally he was a respected member of numerous national and international Dental organizations. He will always be one of the Indian Dental Association's great modern statesman. He served the community as Past President of the Anthony Wayne Rotary Club, and was a member of the Optimist Club. He was a retired Commander in the United States Navy and a veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid I.U. fan, he loved playing tennis with his wife, golfing, flying his plane, and most of all spending time with his family. "He loved his family and cherished his granddaughters." Surviving are his loving wife, Leatrice "Boots" Stetzel of Fort Wayne; sons, Eric (Janis) Stetzel and Mark (Laura) Stetzel, both of Fort Wayne; and granddaughters, Jill, Kayla and Leah Stetzel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Art and Donna Stetzel. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road. Private family service. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
