    • Elizabeth Annalee Summers Cogar, 83, of Midland, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2021, in Columbus, Georgia.

      A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery.

      Annalee was born May 25, 1937 in Bennett, Colorado, daughter of the late Guy Otis Summers and Amy Ione McAllister Summers. Annalee’s parents were wheat farmers in Byers, Colorado and she never missed an opportunity to delight her family with stories of life on the farm. She met her husband, Max, while he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. Annalee was a proud army wife with a passion for traveling, volunteering, and sharing her experiences with others. She loved to spend time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

      In addition to her parents, Annalee is preceded in death by her husband CSM (R) Hazelton Max Cogar and siblings, Donald Summers, Margaret Shuler, Gene Summers, Maxine Gamble and JoAnne Beebe.

      She is survived by her son, Mark Cogar (Kiwani) of Box Springs, Georgia, daughters, Judy Davis (Lawrence) of Midland, Georgia and Amy Mitchell of Columbus, Georgia, siblings, Betty Hamilton of Denver, Colorado, David Summers of Colorado Springs, Colorado, George Summers of Denver, Colorado, Paula Baer of Lone Tree, Colorado, grandchildren, Ashley Hunter, Summer Cogar (Shannon), Corley Sibold (Andrew), Clayton Haywood (Morgan), Allison Haywood, Alexis Haywood, great-grandchildren, Daniel Roy, Braxton Taylor, Max Sibold, Eleanor Sibold, L.A. Cogar, Chandler Hunter, numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved family members.

      Flowers may be sent to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Boulevard Columbus, Georgia 31907.
