Born Oct 7, 1914, in Webster Co., WV, the son of Tomas (should be Thomas) and Lora Clutter. Lived 36 years in Rockford, coming here from West Virginia. Married Louella E. McCourt in Webster County on Jan. 13, 1939. He was self-employed as a coal mine operator for 17 years in West Virginia, and also was a machinist at Woodward Governor Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1980. Member of Silver Hill Pentecostal Church and a Bible school teacher. He also was a member of the NRA and worked as a member of the CCC during the Great Depression before World War II. Survivors include Louella (McCourt) Young of Loves Park, blessed with five children, sons, Gerald "Gerry" (Barbara) Clutter of Rockford and Gary (Mary) Clutter of Sesser, daughter Claris (Dan) McAlister of Roscoe, son, Warren (Tonya) Clutter of Rockford and son the late Bradford "Brad" Clutter, 12 grandchildren, sisters, Agatha, Audivie and Mertie; numerous nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by brothers, Lemon and Raymond, and sister, Dorsie and Vergie. Services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan 6., in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, with the Rev Robert Bailey, pastor of the Silver Hill Pentecostal Church, officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m.. Friday, Jan. 5 in the funeral home 1-4-2
