- Ralph Clevenger, 81, of Webster Springs, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Clay Health Care Center in Ivydale, WV. He was born January 24, 1939 in Diana, Webster County, WV to the late Onie Earl and Maggie Gathel Groves Clevenger.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Geraldine Eubank Clevenger; Daughter, Janet Louise Clevenger and Son, Danny Lynn Clevenger; Brothers, Thomas Ferrell, Lloyd Beverly, Delbert Lee, Robert "Bob" Shurdin, Dickie Boyice, Buster Tamlon, and Buddy Ray Clevenger and Sister, Helena Dell Clevenger Cogar.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 6 years, Connie. His children: Linda & David Breitenstein of Fredericksburg, PA; Ferrell & Sally Clevenger of Hagerstown, MD; Brenda Hetterich of Finksburg, MD; Barbara & David Simmons of Littlestown, PA; Shirley & David Boteler of Westminster, MD; Onie & Katherine Clevenger of Keymar, MD; grandchildren: Theresa Meacham, Dale Cutlip, Steven Clevenger, Freddy Kunkel, Amy Clevenger, Tracie Clevenger, Dwayne Simmons, Brittany Tom, Bradley Simmons, Becky Boldyga, Deanna Colls, Jacob Clevenger, Jessica Clevenger, Sam Breitenstein, Eric Spetch and fourteen great-grandchildren. Stepchildren: Andy Moats, Samantha Moats, and Michelle Moats; step grandchildren: Ricky, Bradley, Ashton, Andrea, Megan, BreeAnna, and many other extended family and friends who will mourn his passing.
Ralph proudly served his country and was deployed to England before receiving an honorable discharge from the United States Army. He and Geraldine were married on February 28, 1959 by Minister Hance McCoy in Webster Springs, WV. Ralph moved his young family from West Virginia to Baltimore City, MD and in 1967 settled in Finksburg, MD. Ralph was the recipient of multiple driving awards prior to retiring in May 1998 from his career as a commercial truck driver. He was a Christian and attended Bergoo Baptist Church in Bergoo, WV and Elk Valley Chapel in Webster Springs, WV. He was dedicated to reading and studying God's word daily. His grandchildren and great-grandchild were one of his greatest joys. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a member of the Beaver Run Fish and Game Club in Finksburg, MD where he served as President for two terms. He raised several full-blooded Bluetick Hounds and trained them to be skilled raccoon hunters. Ralph was a jovial man and loved telling stories about the past. He welcomed everyone to his home.

However, we invite you to the Graveside Service with Full Military Honors at his final resting place in Hodam Cemetery, Hacker Valley, WV beside his dearly departed wife of 53 years, Geraldine Eubank Clevenger on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 12:00 pm.
