  Notes	Anchorage Daily News October 26, 2001 Anchorage resident PAULINE MCLEAN died Oct. 24, 2001, of cancer at her home after a brief hospitalization. She was surrounded by her daughters and close friends. A service was at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, Eighth Avenue and E Street. A private interment service was held at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery. A gathering of friends and family followed at the Mabel T. Caverly Senior Center, 111 E. Fifth Avenue. Mrs. McLean was born Aug. 13, 1920, in Minot, N.D., to Lena and Dmetri Weaver. As a young child she moved to Tacoma, Wash., where she also maintained a residence. She moved to Alaska in 1960 with her husband and daughters. She had worked for the federal government at Fort Richardson and later for state-operated schools, from which she retired in 1975. Mrs. McLean was noted for her fabulous homemaking skills, her daughters said, teaching them as young girls to cook, sew and knit. She was a member of the Elks, American Legion, and Mabel T. Caverly Senior Center, where she served on the Board of Directors. Her family added: ''She enjoyed her pinochle friends, and especially her dogs and cats. She will be missed by all of her friends and family.'' Mrs. McLean was preceded in death by her husband, F.P. ''Jack'' McLean; her parents; and brothers, Paul, John and Bill Weaver. She is survived by her daughters, Belinda Anderson and Patricia Harrold Spinelli of Colorado; and sons-in-law, Michael Anderson and Ernesto Spinelli; granddaughter, Kimberly Duffy; great-granddaughter, Emma Duffy of New York; brother and sister-in-law, Archie and Joy Hodges; nephew, Larry Hodges; nieces, Katie, Stacie and Cheryl Hodges of Portland, Ore.; and cousins, Paul and Evelyn Maxim of Olympia, Wash. Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent in her name to Hospice of Anchorage or Friends of Pets. Arrangements were by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
